I love the two smock details that gather in the fabric and that run around the bust and above the final tier

This extraordinary dress dates to the 1966 collection based on the similar fabric treatments I have found from two other dresses from that collection (pictured here)

There is a slight difference in the velvet pile here and there but this is natural patina for age and normal wear

that allows it to completely unzip The inside is clean with overall mild yellowing to the white interior

The tunic is sublime - it curves in at the waist with a flared hip

She wore it to a friends birthday gala and that was the only time it was ever worn. We narrowed down the date based on that info and also recently found footage of a version of it in the spring 1996 show. The cut and line of this dress are pure heaven.
