sMtCK Polyclonal Antibody, 100ul Adeno-associated Virus Packaging PGR uses two distinct promotorsMitochondrial creatine kinase (MtCK) is responsible for the transfer of high energy phosphate from mitochondria to the cytosolic carrier, creatine. It belongs to the creatine kinase isoenzyme family. It exists as two isoenzymes, sarcomeric MtCK and ubiquitous MtCK, encoded by separate genes. Mitochondrial creatine kinase occurs in two different oligomeric forms: dimers and octamers, in contrast to the exclusively dimeric cytosolic creatine kinase

Description

PGR uses two distinct promotors and translation start sites in the first exon to produce several transcript variants

This gene encodes an integral membrane protein that contains two N-terminal leucine-rich repeats domains and contains C-terminal regions similar to neurotrophin receptors

Its expression pattern and similarity to other proteins suggest that it may be involved in synaptic functions

Under basal conditions the encoded protein is phosphorylated by AMP-activated protein kinase or the salt-inducible kinases and is sequestered in the cytoplasm

POLR2A encodes the largest subunit of RNA polymerase II
