The three pieces from this mini series were created to conjure a nostalgia for historic etchings and the odd fantastical result of a type of interbreeding of species

The white has a 70s vintage quality to it

my model Jenn had a baby girl a few years after this photo shoot and named her Jacqueline (of course Jacqueline also has her own namesake pattern)

I had a thought of melding the black and white as a tux stripe on the magenta pieces

We also painted a mural covering the entire floor of the salon including a compass rose with sea searpants

The primary image is a graphite drawing called "Spinal Cracker." The melding of the transparent layers gives a great depth to this textile that is hard to achieve in traditional textile printing.
