The piece is in the La Reine pattern, which was patented in 1893. This pattern displays fancy scrolls in high relief on the handle. The bowl has a fluted shape with a scalloped edge and star shaped piercings. The front cartouche is monogrammed FA in a flowing script. The reverse is marked sterling along with the maker's mark for Reed and
